Dallas Business Journal: First look: Behind Rockhill's New Fairview development (Slideshow)

Excerpt by Anna Butler of Dallas Business Journal

Situated in both Wise and Denton Counties, New Fairview is in for big changes in the coming years. Yet, maintaining the area's rural integrity is a priority for Rockhill Capital and Investments as it digs into its new development at Shoop Ranch.

The Frisco-based real estate developer has worked to incorporate the region's current terrain and character thoughtfully in its master plan spanning 1,807 acres while also collaborating directly with the City of New Fairview.

The acreage at Shoop Ranch is expected to include a city square with shopping, restaurants, civic, emergency services and office space; 4,150 single-family homes; and 900 multi-family residences, among other offerings.

Here's a look at renderings of the city square concept, park concepts, land use plan and the fishable Oliver Creek expected to continue creeping through the acreage.
